NEBRASKA TELLS ITS SENATOR -- NO -- TO HIS WHORE TACTICS

Therefore, We, the People of Nebraska, do solemnly declare that Nebraska is a Sovereign State, equal among the Several States of the Union, but eminent to the Federal Government thereof, which is limited to the enumerated powers of the Constitution, as expressly provided therein, and as directly recognized thereby, in the Tenth Amendment thereto, such that, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Because the People of Nebraska have the Right not to suffer the Federal Government’s wrongs, they also have the Right to prevent said wrongs by enacting legislation, either by popular referendum or legislative action, through the superior Sovereignty of the State of Nebraska. In order to serve as a rampart against the Federal Government’s past, present, and promised wrongs, the People of Nebraska call upon the Legislature of the Sovereign State of Nebraska to pass, with due haste, and without delay, the Nebraska State Sovereignty Resolution.

Although only a beginning, this action by the Legislature will sound the bell of Liberty, and notify the Federal Government that, despite its long train of abuses and usurpations, the Sovereignty of the great State of Nebraska, and the Freedom of Her People, are not at an end: they are resurrected; they are reasserted; and they will not be arrogated by the Federal Government any longer.

This is a very good sign of things to come. The people of Nebraska are telling the FED to stick it.

that may be good and there are a couple of other states asserting their constitutional right of soveriegnty but one question.

are they ready to accept full responsibility that comes with that liberation from the federal government?

There's really no need to pass a sovereignty resolution - just toss Ben Nelson's fat ass out of office, either by impeachment or at the first opportunity at the ballot box.

Its good that Nebraska is sticking it to the FED. I think that Nebraska passing the Sovereignty legislation to bypass this government health care debacle. This whole health care crap is unconstitutional. I hope more states follow suit.

Griper -- life will be tough without farm subsidizes. I wonder if anyone truely wants that.

Fredd -- I agree with exception. The next one they send will be corrupted also. It is the nature of the beast.

Teresa -- the constitution is something washington sneezes into at best. I am afraid for what may be brewing for such actions of the states. I hate conspiracy theories, but something isn't right(my last post). I hoped the states would nullify and use their sovereign rights, Abe put an end to that, but I do not think that the current admin and washington as a whole (both partys) are going to let it happen without a fight. It happened before and I pray history will not repeat itself. Thanks for the read.

What Nebraska is considering should send a loud and clear message to Washington, and it would be terrific if many more followed suit.

What needs to happen of course is for our government to function as it was designed in the Constitution. To be limited and not forever encroaching on our liberties.

The Griper does make a good point.

We have allowed our government to grow into the statist behemoth it is today. Taking the road back to where we should never have left it will be difficult in many respects.
