I loved my war time service. I would go again in a minute, but can you imagine chugging across the channel in those seas and that ramp dropping...?
One thing that always stuck out to me: a German soldier wrote after the war he fired 10,000 rounds of machinegun ammunition at the American troops that morning. One man- 10,000 rounds.
Chupa- 10000 rds? Man those boots were lucky to hit the sand. Thanks for your service my friend!
